The Choice

Band comment: Many people have commented that, if we were to lighten up the guitars, this would be a great children's song. That could explain why there is so much fighting, hatred, killing, greed, jealousy, depression, dispair, and so forth in this world, because too many people think that messages, such as the following, are JUST for children. We didn't create this song with children in mind.

If you want to be miserable, chances are you will be miserable
For a miserable person doesn't let good fortune interfere with his misery
If you want to be happy, chances are you will be happy
For a happy person doesn't let misfortune steal away his happiness

Chorus:
All of us see good and bad, pleasure and pain, happy and sad
You can bask in the positive or dwell on the negative
The choice that you make, what you choose to be
Determines your life and personality

If you want to be hateful, chances are you will be hateful
For a hateful person doesn't let kindness soften up her hatred
If you want to be loving, chances are you will be loving
For a loving person doesn't let belligerence weaken her love or sympathy

(Repeat chorus)

Bridge:
For your attitude determines all
It can make your problems big or small
It can leave you feeling like a worthless heel or feeling ten feet tall

So, if you want to be beautiful, chances are you will be beautiful
For a beautiful person doesn't let appearances keep her from feeling beautiful

(Repeat chorus)

Last chorus:
All of us see good and bad, pleasure and pain, happy and sad
You can bask in the positive or dwell on the negative
The choice that you make (The choice that you make!)
What you choose to be (What you choose to be!)
Yes, the choice that you make, what you choose to be
Determines your life and personality
(Your life and destiny!)

The choice is yours
