Jan. 22, 2006: Updated "Creep Repellent" and "For People Who Don't Dig Rock," which were remixed, and "Six String Spell," which had minor rewrites and were partly rerecorded and remixed. Check out the new versions.

Nov. 28, 2005: We now have a site on MySpace, which is www.myspace.com/stonemarmot. Be sure to visit us there and tell your friends. We have a blog running there. We want to be your friends!

Nov. 11, 2005: Added more new songs to website: "Amazed What A Smile Can Do," which was cowritten with Jodell Youker, who also sings on this song with guests Dan Copeland on rhythm guitar and Jim Terry on lead guitar; "For People Who Don't Dig Rock," which questions why everyone likes a rock song except rockers; "Men Hurt Too," yeah, we do.

Oct. 31, 2005: CD Baby has discontinued the program where all the money from the sales of CDs by artists who chose to be in the program were donated to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. Over $160,000 were collected through this program, which included money from the sales of our CD over this time period. Thank you all who supported us and this program!

Sept. 19, 2005: All the money we make from the sale of our Babes Of An Alien Persuasion CD through CD Baby are being donate to Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. This has been in effect since Sept. 1 and will continue until the end of this year, we sell out all our present stock of CDs, or CD Baby discontinues the program, whichever comes first.

July 1, 2005: The Muse's Muse compilation CD, "Planet Muse Uncharted Talent," is now available through CD Baby. Muses's Muse is a internet based songwriter's forum. Our song, "Thinking Of You," has been selected for inclusion on this CD. "Thinking Of You," features guests Kathryn Stafford as lead vocalist and Dan Copeland on lead guitar. June 25, 2005: Added more new songs to website: "The Death Of A Closest Friend," which is a slow song about a close friend dying; "Na Na Baby Goodbye," which is a classic rock and roll type song that makes fun of songwriting; and "Toby The Wonder Cat," which is a song about a close friend's cat.

Apr. 14, 2005: Updated "Creep Repellent," which was remixed, and "Six String Spell," which experienced a major rewrite and was re-recorded due to comments from a number of respected individuals, including a Grammy-nominated producer and a songwriter with a couple of hits that went to number 1 on the Billboard charts.

Mar. 25, 2005: Added another new song to website, "Creep Repellent." We return to our rock roots with this song, which has a punk rock feel.

Jan. 24, 2005: Added another new song to website, "It's OK To Cry." This song again features guests Kathryn Stafford as lead vocalist and also Robert Rose on piano.

Jan. 22, 2005: The Muse's Muse upcoming compilation CD, on which our song "Thinking Of You" has been selected for inclusion, is expected to be available for purchase in April, 2005. More details will be post here as we get them.

Dec. 10, 2004: Our song, "Thinking Of You," has been selected for inclusion on the Muse's Muse upcoming compilation CD! Muses's Muse is a internet based songwriter's forum. They are releasing their first compilation CD of some of the best songs by their members. Our song, "Thinking Of You," features guests Kathryn Stafford as lead vocalist and Dan Copeland on lead guitar. This song is presently available as a FREE MP3 download, at least until it becomes available on the CD.

Oct. 19, 2004: Besides our CD Babes Of An Alien Persuasion, we now also have Stone Marmot T-shirts, sweat shirts, golf shirts, coffee mugs, mouse pads, lunch boxes, and much, much more available from CafePress. We even have Stone Marmot thongs! Proudly show the world that you are a brave and astute connoiseur of eclectic pop-rock by sporting the Stone Marmot band on all your gear. Oct. 10, 2004: Our CD Babes Of An Alien Persuasion is discussed in the Sept./Oct. 2004 issue of "Paddler" magazine. See the article "River Tunes Revisited" on page 26 of this issue.

July 31, 2004: Added two new songs to website. Most songs not presently available on a CD are available as FREE MP3 downloads, at least until they become available on a CD.

June 4, 2004: Our song Environmental Poser is featured on the latest Oasis Alternative Music sampler CD, Volume 26. This CD is distributed to over 300 radio stations across the country, as well as to many influential people in the music industry.

May 18, 2004: A review of our Babes Of An Alien Persuasion CD by the TampaBayMusician.com website rates the CD 85 points out of 100. The review states that the CD "... takes you on a bizarre and satirical journey ... and that is its appeal ..." and "... I highly recommend this disk. April 12, 2004: All of the songs on our Babes Of An Alien Persuasion CD are now also available for purchase as digital downloads from Apple iTunes. You now have another option for buying any one or more songs off the CD instead of buying the whole CD.

March 5, 2004: Scott Harrell, reviewer for the Tampa Bay alternative newsweekly "Weekly Planet," says of our Babes Of An Alien Persuasion CD is "... mostly a joy to listen to ..." and "... the marvelous harmonies, caricatured pop hallmarks and utterly ludicrous themes are surely worth the price of admission." December 23, 2003: Our song Alien Concubine is reviewed in the "Readers' Tapes" column of the January, 2004 issue of Recording magazine. Some of their comments are: "Close your eyes and imagine a marriage between the B-52s and Devo. Kinda scary, huh? Well, the folks in Stone Marmot have a cool, catchy tune here ..." and "... the lead and backing vocals are very well recorded and perfect in the mix, capturing the Fred Schneider style in all its glory ..." and "A talented bunch are the Stone Marmots ..."

November 4, 2003: Long time, no news. That's because we've been busy. We heard about some people who were looking for instrumental songs for TV shows, movies, videos, etc. Over the past two months we made instrumental versions of seven of the songs from our CD. Four have made the first cut and are under serious consideration: Sensitivity for a comedy TV show, Why and Cool Is For Posers for extreme sports videos, and The Duh-Lay-Oh Song for a children's TV show.

August 25, 2003: The first "Rants and Raves" articles are posted.

July 31, 2003: CDs are finally in stock and available for purchase from CD Baby.

July 22, 2003: Received CDs from manufacturer.

July 11, 2003: Accepted as member of BMI, the performing rights organization who will be handling the performance royalties for our songs. Unfortunately, this acceptance came too late to have them listed on our first batch of CDs.
